Who
is Jamar?
- Established
in 1913 as the Walker Jamar Company.
- Acquired
as wholly owned subsidiary of API Group, Inc. in
1985.
- 1986 acquired
Arrowhead Mechanical Contracting Company.
- 1987 expanded
the material distribution business with theacquisition
of Asdco, Inc.
- 1988 modernized
entire operation with the construction of a new65,000
sq ft office, fabrication shop and distribution center.
- 1989 established
the Construction Services division focusedon the
hi-reach, scaffolding and temporary heat rental business.
- 1992 entered
the mechanical service business with the acquisition
of Arrowhead Refrigeration.
- 1992 entered
the boiler repair business with the establishment
of a Cloquet, MN based division of Jamar. In 1997,
this division relocated into our Duluth, MN office.
- 1995 upgraded
contracting capabilities with the addition of computerized
estimating, CAD drafting and specialized engineering/project
management personnel.
- 1998 expanded
the fabrication facility's abilities with a $500,000
investment in additional equipment and space
- Merged
Pentecost Construction Company into an operating
division of Jamar in 1999.
- Reorganized
contracting and operations divisions of Jamar in
2001.
- 722,023
man hours safely worked in 2003.
- $58MM in
revenues in 2003.
- Office
locations: Duluth, MN, Marquette, MI and Green Bay,
WI.
- 90% of
our business is industrial specifically pulp/paper,
utility and mining.
