JAMAR
COMPANY IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON THE ALTERNATIVE FUEL PROJECT
AT KEEWATIN TACONITE
Jamar is currently working on the Alternate Fuel
project at Keewatin Taconite for USS. They have teamed
up with Northern Industrial Erectors to execute the project.
The project consists of several adjacent structures which
include a coal dump pocket (Area 100), coal crushing
and screening building (Area 200) and the coal storage
(Area 300). Jamar's scope of work consists of supplying
and installing process ductwork and piping, mechanical
equipment,
dust collection, insulation and lagging along with providing
building siding materials for the overall project. This
project is scheduled to be complete by November 15th,
2005. USS has determined that by installing an alternate
fuel system, a substantial monthly savings in operating
costs will be recognized.
Another upgrade project in progress is the 33 Dust Collector.
This project is designed to improve the air quality around
the product belt area. This project is scheduled to be
completed in the spring of 2006. Jamar is providing and
installing equipment, ductwork and piping materials for
this project.
As
in past years, Jamar is currently performing the
annual outage work on site. This year their manpower
consists of
approximately 100 men working 2-12 hour shifts 7 days per
week.
