Menasha Utilities
has awarded the Jamar Green Bay Division the steam and
condensate piping project. Menasha Utilities
located in Wisconsin's Fox Valley worked for over a year
to justify a project to convert their power plant from
a summer peaking plant to a base load unit.
Two nearby paper mills and one packaging company had
a need for a fulltime steam provider and Menasha pursued
the idea.
They agreed to long term steam purchase agreements
if Menasha would run the lines to their facilities.
Jamar's
award consists of the installation of steam and condensate
piping including insulation at Sonoco
Papers, Alcan Packaging and the Whiting Paper facilities
all adjacent to the Menasha power plant. The work should
be completed in late November 2005.
